The modern fermentation platform supports research and teaching activities in the areas of cellular physiology, fermentation processes, metabolite analysis, purification processes and screening. The platform offers state of the art equipment in terms of fermentors, off gas analysis, high throughput screening and protein purification. In addition, sophisticated analytical instrument together with highly skilled expertise is associated with the platform.
Finally, a fully functional mammalian cell laboratory has been established so the entire spectrum of organisms, both microbial and mammalian physiology can be characterized using this fermentation platform.

The fermentation platform is distinguished by its combination of advanced fermentation, analytical and purification facilities as well as automatisation equipment. The platform is equipped with advanced equipment and fermentor capacity which compares to the facilities in universities distinguished within the field of fermentation. The platform will support high-level biotech research activities at DTU as well as enable better teaching in fermentation technology to supply highly trained fermentation specialists for the growing Danish biotech industry.
